Boardworks offers a variety of board construction technologies to ensure that you have the right board that fits your ability, your intended use and your budget. TEC

What sets Boardworks apart from other epoxy sandwich manufacturers is our proprietary T.E.C. (Thermal Epoxy Compression) technology. Utilizing this technology, where we apply both heat and pressure, coupled with the finest epoxy resins, Boardworks produces a sandwiched surfboard that is light, tight, and very durable. Each Boardworks board consists of a dual-density core, (EPS bonded to a high density divynicell outer shell), fiberglass, and epoxy resins. In our T.E.C. construction we are able to replicate a board from some of your favorite shapers that has an amazing strength to weight ratio and excellent flex and rebound characteristics that give our boards a "feel" in the water that surfers of all abilities will appreciate.

Constructed of single density, stringerless, hand-shaped EPS cores with epoxy resin laminations and painted with superior automotive grade paint and polish coat, with a hand sanded finish or gloss finish. Very user-friendly boards that are designed to surf and are great for cruising as well. The perfect choice for entry level to advanced paddlers at an affordable price.

Comes with pad, finger well insert for easy handling, leash plugs inserts on the deck for paddle straps, and fins.

EPX Process

  • 2.5# eps core, hand shaped.
  • Deck is 3 layers of 4 oz with full rail lap.
  • Bottom is 2 layers of 4 oz with full rail lap.
  • No stringers.
SDK

Boardworks Soft Decks are constructed with a smooth and durable ASA* bottom and rails, and croc skin EVA foam, vacuum bagged to the deck. The EVA foam layer provides a comfortable and safe ride while the hard, ASA bottom and rails allow for fast smooth paddling and increased durability. These are the perfect boards for beginners progressing through to intermediate levels. At 11’ and 12’ lengths with a wide point of 32” and generous thickness throughout, the Soft Deck boards are stable and fast gliding cruisers, perfect for inland lakes and waterways and off shore touring, with tested bottom curves and rocker lines that will allow for wave riding if the opportunity arises.

*ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) is a copolymer based material that has excellent properties for outdoor applications with its remarkable resistance to prolonged exposure to sunlight, heat, rain and common chemicals, and with its ideal mechanical properties: the actylate elastomer has an excellent resistance to discoloration and degradation from UV sunlight and as a laminate sheet, provides high scratch and impact resistant protection.

TEC-V (Thermal Epoxy Compression - Veneer) technology. Utilizing this technology, where we apply both heat and pressure, coupled with the finest epoxy resins, Boardworks produces a sandwich molded standup paddle board that is light, tight, and very durable. Each Boardworks TEC-V board consists of a dual-density core, (EPS bonded to a veneer outer shell), fiberglass, and the finest epoxy resins. Our construction process results in SUPs with amazing strength to weight ratio and excellent flex and rebound characteristics that give our boards a "feel" in the water that paddlers of all abilities will appreciate.

MCIT

MCIT (Multi Chamber Inflatable Technology) Registering a patent on its new innovation - Multi Chamber Inflatable Technology (MCIT) and the Axially Stabilizing Apparatus - Boardworks has challenged the design constraints of existing drop-stitch inflatable SUP technology to create a board with tapered rails and enhanced rigidity. The result is Boardworks/Badfish's new MCIT Inflatable for 2012.

Conventional drop-stitch material construction which is used by the leading inflatable SUP manufacturers, has a consistent thickness, limiting design variations to outline shape and rocker curve. Our new technology lets us create design elements previously only possible in hard boards including tapered rails which increase responsiveness and stability. MCIT’s I-Beam Stiffening System is another design innovation that greatly boosts rigidity.
